The Clanton Park Toronto area, originally known as Dublin Hewights, began as a farming hamlet in the early 1800s and was bought by William Duncan in 1827.This quiet neighbourhood is located in the north-central part of Toronto, bordered with Finch Avenue to the north, Bathurst Street to the east, Allen Road to the west and Wilson Avenue to the south. Several shopping plazas service the area for convenient shopping needs like grocery stores, dining spots, coffee shops and more.
This Toronto neighbourhood also features community centres and outdoor education centres which offer great recreation activities for the community. The area is serviced by bus connections that can be made on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line as well as offering motorists a direct routes to downtown and access to Highway 401.The majority of the homes built in the late 1950s and 1960s and range from ranch style bungalows, split-level and semi-detached homes, townhouses and contemporary style houses. Homes are typically situated on suburban sized lots, offering reasonable greenspace within the neighbourhood.We have seen a dramatic shift in this neighbourhood over the past 20 years where larger 2 storey homes have replaced the bungalows.

Clanton Park is a quiet, suburban neighborhood located within North York, a district in the north-central part Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It consists predominantly of Ranch-style Bungalows, Split-level, and detached single-family homes that were built back in the late 1950s and early 1960s.  There also can be found new medium rise condominiums as well as some low income high rise housing.
The Balmoral subdivision located at on the west side of Faywood at Joel Swirsky Boulevard is a unique collection of newer and larger custom built homes, with smart looking stone and brick exteriors. The entrances to this exclusive subdivision is marked by a stone pillar gateway at both Wilson Heights and Faywood Boulevards.
Originally, the population was mostly Jewish, but more recently includes significant, Italian, Russian, Filipino, and Polish populations.

Earl Bales Park is located directly across from Clanton Park community bordering on the east side of Bathurst Street (main entrance at Raoul Wallenberg Road, opposite Bainbridge Avenue) and the south side of Sheppard Avenue. It  is located at the site of the old York Downs Golf Course in the West Don River valley where tees and greens can still be recognized as you wander through  the park landscape. The property was originally owned and farmed by John Bales, great-grandfather of Robert Earl Bales a former Reeve (Mayor) of the Township of North York. The historic Bales homestead, built in 1824, remains intact at the north-west corner of the park.


Special features includes the 1,500-seat Barry Zukerman Amphitheatre and, during the winter season, cross-country skiing on groomed trails. Earl Bales Woods contains Sugar Maple, Black Maple and American Beech and mature Black Walnut trees. This park is also home to the North York Ski Centre (open seasonally) - one of the two Ski & Snowboard Centres run by the City of Toronto.  Recent upgrades to the ski chalet and an addition of a quad chair lift have made for a more enjoyable skiing and snowboarding experience on the hills. 
Other park facilities include a playground, a dogs off-leash park, picnic sites, fire pits, and snack bar.
